The ESG Innovation and Entrepreneurship Forum, organised by the Hong Kong Institute of Business Studies of Lingnan University together with the iRecycle Charity Foundation, was held on campus on 2 May. Sponsored by SGS Hong Kong Limited, Friends of the Earth (HK), ESGreen Limited, CircularESG Limited, Real See Intelligence, and Originals Group, the forum brought together over 70 industry experts, scholars, and students to discuss the development of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) innovation and entrepreneurship to promote sustainable business practices.
Prof Liang Liping, Director of the Hong Kong Institute of Business Studies at Lingnan University, opened the forum with a welcome address, thanking all participants and emphasising the importance of incorporating ESG concepts into business development strategies.
Several guest speakers were invited to share their insights on the forum's theme. Among the guest speakers were Ms Miranda Kwan, Director of Business Assurance at SGS Hong Kong Limited, who stressed the necessity of integrating sustainability into core business strategies, Dr Raymond Wong, Head of ESG Services at the iRecycle Charity Foundation, who discussed innovative ESG strategies to enhance corporate sustainability through successful cases and methodologies, Dr Plato Yip, Chairperson of Friends of the Earth (HK), who focused on environmental stewardship and sustainable resource management, and Mr Timothy Chung, System Consultant at ESGreen Limited, who explained how emerging technologies enhance efficiency and support sustainable industry practices.
The forum concluded with an animated roundtable discussion moderated by Prof Michael So, Adjunct Assistant Professor at Lingnan University. In addition to the guest speakers, the panellists included Mr Sun Chan, Founder of CircularESG Limited, and they discussed innovative green entrepreneurial ideas and conversed with the audience.
Addressing ESG as a sustainable development and innovation driver, the forum brought together industry experts and thought leaders to inspire young entrepreneurs and build an inclusive and sustainable entrepreneurial ecosystem.
